Spotify’s music app will use Google Cloud’s Large Language Models (LLM) to help make personalized recommendations based on the podcasts and audiobooks the user listens to.
This was reported by Reuters, Ukrinform reported.
AI-powered LLMs like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google Bard have large amounts of data and can generate text and other content.
There are various LLMs on Google Cloud, such as PaLM 2, Codey, Imagen and Chirp, which provide training in text, code, images, audio and video.
Through its expanded partnership with Google, Spotify is also exploring the use of Masters to enable safer listening and detect potentially harmful content.
Spotify was one of the first companies to use artificial intelligence for its music recommendation algorithms. The Swedish company is now considering using Master to replicate this experience for non-music content such as podcasts and audiobooks.
As reported by Ukrinform, popular streaming service Spotify has expanded its audiobook offering, giving all paid subscribers 15 hours of free listening per month.
