SpaceX announced that the launch of the Starship super heavy spacecraft prototype has been postponed due to technical reasons. It was previously learned that the company received permission from the Federal Civil Aviation Administration for the launch planned to be held today, November 17.
“We need to replace the cage stabilizer drive, so launch has been postponed until Saturday,” SpaceX said on social network X (formerly Twitter).
Let us remind you that in April, SpaceX carried out its first successful rocket launch with the Starship spacecraft prototype installed. The rocket reached an altitude of 39 km. A few seconds after launch, it was learned that 5 of the 33 Raptor engines installed on the Super Heavy launch vehicle had failed.
As a result, within a minute the rocket began to crash and spin and deviated from the correct course. Later, the remote destruction system was activated.
