In Ukraine, nearly 3,500 digital education centers have been created on the basis of libraries that provide educational services in the field of digital technologies.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“We are transforming libraries. Digital education centers are not just a place to read books; they teach you all the digital skills you need. About 3,500 such spaces are currently operating in Ukraine,” the report says.
The project is carried out by the Ministry of Digital Transformation in Ukraine in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) within the framework of the “Action Support Project” financed by Sweden as well as the Ukrainian Librarians Association.
Currently, community residents have the opportunity to learn how to use computers and the Internet, messaging programs and social networks, and how to behave safely online in such areas.
Within the scope of the project, employees of digital education centers in 12 provinces of Ukraine received training from the Ukrainian Librarians’ Association.
As reported, book collection points have been opened in Ukraine, which will restore library funds destroyed in the territories temporarily occupied by Russian invaders.
