Sundar Pichai, CEO of the American company Google, likened artificial intelligence (AI) to climate change in the world.

CNBC reports this, according to Ukrinform.

“In a way, this (artificial intelligence) is similar to climate change and the planet. We all share the same planet. I think it’s fair to say that about AI as well,” Pichai said.

Therefore, he added, people need to create a framework for AI at the global level, not at the local level.

According to him, if AI “goes wrong” in one country, it could affect other countries, making it difficult to regulate at the local level.

Pichai noted that countries have a common responsibility to create a global framework for artificial intelligence, as he has warned in recent months.

Among other things, he said he had seen “some signs of progress” in discussions on creating a framework for the safe operation of artificial intelligence, including at the G7 summit in Japan earlier this year.

As Ukrinform reported, the United States was among 45 countries in Europe, North America, Africa and other parts of the world that ratified the Political Declaration on the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Autonomy for Military Purposes.
