European integration bill No. 10265 on the implementation of European legislation on roaming was registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
This was reported by Ukrinform reported the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine to Telegram.
As stated by the Ministry of Digitalization, the adoption of the draft law will bring Ukrainian legislation closer to European Union law.
This will create conditions for practical integration into the EU’s single digital market, where Ukraine will receive the internal market regime with the EU on roaming services and join the single roaming zone “Roaming like at home”.
With the adoption of the document, Ukrainians will have the opportunity to use domestic mobile phone tariffs on the territory of EU member states and not pay additional fees for roaming services. EU citizens will have the same rights when visiting Ukraine.
Conditions will also be created for Ukraine to obtain the internal market regime with the EU in the field of electronic communications / for Ukraine’s integration into the EU’s single digital market.
Ukrainian suppliers of electronic communication services will receive equal terms of cooperation with European ones.
As reported, in July 2023, 22 European operators and 7 Ukrainian operators (3Mob, Data Group, Kyivstar, Lifecell, Ukrtelecom, Vega White, Vodafone Ukraine) extended the agreement on affordable roaming for Ukrainians staying abroad for another year.
