Those of you who read us daily know this Windows 11 is not my favorite, and that I also had some specific problems with Windows 10, although I generally preferred this latest operating system for my daily life. In the test bench, where we analyze the latest generation components that get our hands, I have Windows 11 installed because it is necessary, and the truth is that it gave me some “mastery”.

I have also gained experience with Windows 11 because I have it installed on my laptop. I did this precisely because I wanted to use it to create tutorials and articles for you, and because of course I needed to get a realistic idea of ​​what this operating system can offer in terms of performance in a more standardized configuration and far from the classic high-end configuration that we have on the test bench.

The fact is that a few weeks ago I was able to finally build your new PC. As soon as possible, I will share with you an extensive article dedicated to the entire assembly process, but at the moment it is impossible due to time constraints. To complete the configuration of the computer I had two options, use Windows 10 or switch to Windows 11 and at the end I decided to take the plunge and install a second one. Yes, I know I said I would rush Windows 10 as much as possible, but the new components have encouraged me to give this new version of Windows a chance now.

My experience with Windows 11

I installed Windows 11 on a latest generation computer that fits what we can consider the top of the line. I don’t want to say anything about the components because those will be explained in the special I’m planning to do and hope to finish in a few weeks. The whole process of component detection and storage drive recognition went smoothly so I have no objection in this respect.

Generally speaking I liked the “new” interface, in quotes because I’ve used it before, though not in real life. Eventually I got used to it and the truth is that Windows 11 works and plays well for me. The performance is good, although I could not expect anything else given the computer it is mounted on. However, There are also things I didn’t like.

The first is new Paint, which I use because it’s fast for simple edits, and which I supplement with Paint.net. Second, I don’t like that either the screenshot tool activates the screenshot tool by default, which allows you to select a specific size and automatically saves the image. It’s not a serious problem because we can change it and adopt the classic direct capture method, which we then paste wherever we want on the full screen, but this should be the default configuration.

Do I regret taking the leap?

The truth is, no. It’s true that It didn’t work as smoothly as Windows 10 at first, but eventually I got used to it and don’t have any problems anymore. I hope I don’t have to regret it when the annual updates start coming, the big ones that Microsoft always messes up.
