“X Corp will present thermonuclear lawsuit against Media Matters and against all those who participated in this fraudulent attack on our company,” Musk wrote in a post on X, without naming the other parties.
The liberal media watchdog group Media Matters for America said earlier this week that it had found that corporate advertising IBM, Apple, Oracle and Xfinity from Comcast placed next to anti-Semitic content.

IBM said Thursday that immediately suspended all advertising on Xowned by Musk, after the group discovered its ads were being placed next to content promoting Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party.
Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and Comcast, Lions Gate Entertainment and Paramount Global said Friday they were also suspending their advertising on X. Axios reported that Apple would do the same.
Musk on Wednesday endorsed an anti-Semitic post on X that falsely claimed that members of the Jewish community were inciting hatred against white people.
“Media Matters to America was published this week.” a story that has distorted “Completely consistent with X’s actual experience, this is yet another attempt to undermine freedom of expression and mislead advertisers,” Musk said in a statement.
“Media Matters created an alternate account and curated posts and ads that appear on the account’s timeline to misinform advertisers about the location of their posts.”
Media Matters did not immediately respond to an email request for comment after hours.
Advertisers left the site after Musk bought in October 2022 and a reduction in content moderation, which rights groups say has led to a surge in hate speech on X.
The White House on Friday condemned Elon Musk’s support for what he called a “horrible” anti-Semitic conspiracy theory among Americans.”
“It is unacceptable to repeat horrific lies (…) one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said, referring to the October 7 attack on Israel by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.
