The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said on Saturday it would oversee an investigation into the cause of the crash during a test launch of SpaceX’s Starship rocket system.
This was reported by the FAA social networks HAccording to Ukrinform.
“The FAA will monitor the SpaceX-led accident investigation to ensure SpaceX complies with the FAA-approved accident investigation plan and other regulatory requirements,” the post said.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration also oversaw the investigation after Starship’s first test mission launched from Starbase in April. Then, shortly after launch, an explosion occurred on the ship.
As Ukrinform reported, on Saturday, November 18, the American company SpaceX carried out the second test launch of the Starship rocket system created for missions to the Moon and Mars. However, an explosion occurred after the first stage of the rocket system (Super Heavy) separated from the second stage, the spacecraft (Ship 25).
About 10 minutes after launch, the company announced that contact with Ship 25 had been lost during its flight and that it assumed the ship was malfunctioning.
