OnePlus is leading the race to bring Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 to affordable smartphones and tablets. The company is launching OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 2 for OnePlus Pad today, ahead of others. After a month since the first release of Open Beta 1, the new Open Beta has fixed and improved many features and functions.

The new firmware beta version is now available for users who opt for Open Beta 1. It is available to users in India and includes the October 2023 Android security patch to improve system security. It also optimizes system stability and performance. Other changes are listed below in the official changelog:

System

• Integrated October 2023 Android security patch to improve system security.

  • Increases system stability and performance.
  • It extends battery life in some scenarios.
  • Addresses an issue that may cause some third-party applications to crash.

The update has already been released for Open Beta 1 users, but if a new user wants to join, they must have the latest version of OxygenOS 13.1 installed on their device. Plus, get up to 4GB of free storage and save 30% battery before upgrading.

New users may have to wait for OnePlus to review each app and then provide access to the Open Beta firmware. Once approved, users can continue Settings > About device > Tap Update > Tap the icon in the top right corner > Beta testing program > Follow the instructions to apply.

However, the OnePlus Pad was launched earlier this year with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, 128/256GB storage and 8/12GB RAM. It has an 11.61 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2000×2800 pixels. The screen supports HDR10+ and has a 144 Hz refresh rate. It has a 13-megapixel single rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor.
