Microsoft will work with the Ukrainian government to document war crimes committed by Russian invaders.

According to Ukrinform, this was announced on Telegram by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

“Our government will cooperate with Microsoft to document Russia’s war crimes. And the xBox will be officially released in Ukraine. Finally, we will have Ukrainian accounts, consoles will also have Ukrainian language,” he said.

It was noted that the relevant decisions were taken in the meeting with Microsoft President Brad Smith in Davos.

According to Fedorov, the Microsoft team also plans to help Ukraine’s digital industry during the restructuring.

“We have been collaborating with Microsoft for a long time and actively support Ukraine during the war: they became one of the first companies in Russia to suspend all sales of new products and services in early March and provide free cloud services for Ukraine at the end of 2022.” Fedorov stressed.

It was very important to hear that from Brad Smith,” he added.

The company estimates that its initiatives have provided Ukraine a total of $242 million in digital support: financial grants, promotional campaigns, free access to products and services, and equipment.

As Ukrinform reported today, after the official opening of the forum in Davos on May 23, the head of the Ministry of Finance Mikhail Fedorov met with Patricia Danzi, Director General of the Swiss Agency for International Development. As a result of the meeting, it was learned that the budget of the Switzerland-Ukraine “e-Government for Accountability and Community Participation” (EGAP) program will increase by 1.5 million francs this year.
