NVIDIA is becoming an unstoppable giant in the chip industry, and according to data from a financial analyst in Taipei, Dan Nystedtwould achieve for the first time number one in the world by income in the third quarter of 2023.
The company would see a spectacular business performance, p revenue of $18.12 billion quarter, which represents a year-on-year increase of 206%. And what can we say about the benefits… nothing less than $10.42 billionunattainable by any other chip manufacturer.
With this data NVIDIA would beat Intel, Samsung and even contract chip maker and the world’s largest foundry TSMC in statistics that would confirm an excellent year for the green giant. The progression (from fourth to first) is visible in the following graph:
These are certainly positions that can change quickly. And in fact, they do it almost on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Intel is in a situation emergency after its troubled transition to 10nm manufacturing processes and the loss of some PC processor sales share to AMD. Samsung also relegated excess memory supply NAND and DRAM and the decline in prices of products like SSD, something that is in the process of reversing. As for TSMC, it depends on the contracts it gets with the rest of the tech companies, and thus its variations.
NVIDIA, much more than just gaming
Today, the green giant is much more than just the first seller of dedicated graphics that we use to play our favorite games. Actually, it’s been two years already playing games It is not your main source of income.
Business for data centers is the rising star of the company and the division’s revenue growth has been spectacular. And all indications are that they will continue to rise due to the need for computing accelerators amid the explosion of artificial intelligence technologies. The first place of the quarter may remain an anecdote and it will be different in the following ones, but watch out for NVIDIA, which has become a chip colossus.
