Journalists, victims of attacks, threats and censorship

“CPJ emphasizes that journalists These are civilians who carry out important work during a crisis and they should not be targeted by warring parties,” said CPJ Middle East and North Africa program coordinator Sherif Mansour.

“Those in Gaza in particular have paid and continue to pay an unprecedented price and are suffering from exponential threats,” he warned.

“Many have lost colleagues, family members, as well as their premises, and have had to flee to be safe when there is no safe place or exit.”

CPJ is also investigating numerous unconfirmed reports of other journalists being killed, missing, detained, injured, or threatened, as well as damage to media offices and journalists’ homes. (Europe Press)
