Intel Arrow Lake will come with an integrated GPU with XMX dies and Intel XeSS acceleration

Intel Meteor Lake is scheduled to launch on December 14, but we’re already seeing a number of details its successor Intel Arrow Lakegeneration, which will also reach desktop computers and which promises significant development on all fronts, i.e. both at the level of CPU, GPU and AI (artificial intelligence).

According to the latest information we have seen, Intel Arrow Lake could offer a Up to 21% CPU performance improvement compared to Intel Raptor Lake, something that would of course only be possible with an important change at the architectural level and a remarkable increase in IPC. It will maintain the distribution of P-cores and E-cores, as well as ultra-low power cores integrated into the SoC block.

They will use high performance P cores The Lion Cove architecture and high-performance E cores will be based on the Skymont architecture. The first will be an important evolution compared to Redwood Cove and the second compared to Crestmont, two architectures that will revive the P cores and E cores that will bring Intel Meteor Lake processors.

Intel Arrow Lake will have GPUs with XMX matrices

A new leak ensures that the GPU block that will integrate Intel Arrow Lake will feature a Xe-LPG+ GPU with XMX matrices, which means it will have dedicated high-performance AI hardware and be able to accelerate Intel XeSS. This is more important than it seems, because this intelligent scaling and image reconstruction technology has a lot of potential, and providing hardware support in an integrated GPU would give it enormous value.

These XMX matrices can also be used accelerate AI-related workloadswith all that entails, taking into account that this technology will be one of the biggest engines of the PC in the coming years. The integrated Intel Meteor Lake GPU will not include XM matricesX, which means it only supports Intel

With DP4a instructions, Intel XeSS performance turned out to be quite good, so the use of XMX units is promising and calls us to great optimism. It is very likely that this Xe-LPG+ GPU will eventually bring us an important surprise by offering excellent performance in games (always keep in mind that we are talking about an integrated GPU) thanks to the mentioned rescaling technology.

Intel Arrow Lake will retain the block-based disaggregated design introduced by Intel Meteor Lake, combining different nodes based on each block. The CPU block will be manufactured on an Intel 20A nodewhile the GPU node will be manufactured in a 3nm node according to the latest information we have.
