Israeli authorities released on Sunday evening 39 Palestinian prisoners held at Ofer military prison on the outskirts of Ramallah, in the West Bank and at a Russian prison in East Jerusalem, in response to the release of 17 hostages by the Islamic Resistance Movement. (Hamas).
A bus and several International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) vehicles transported prisoners from Ofer to Martyr Yasser Arafat Square in central Ramallah, while another 21 prisoners were released in Jerusalem and received by their relatives. The Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds reported this in its digital edition.
