We have created an interactive map of Kiev providers so that you can easily and quickly find out how long the home internet will work in case of a power outage. If the working hours of the internet are not sufficient, immediately find the nearest provider on the map, which makes more serious preparations against power outages,
– declared Fedorov.

He noted that the map would also help:

• Find out the connection cost and monthly fee for internet services;
• Leave feedback about your home Internet during outages;
• See people’s comments about the operation of the network without electricity.

The map is currently only available to Kiev residents, but Fedorov emphasized that the Ministry of Statistics plans to add Ukraine’s other major cities in the future. He also called on Ukrainians to immediately pay attention to energy-resistant internet to avoid any problems in the event of a power outage.

How to stay connected during possible power outages?

Government Special Communications offered several suggestions on how to stay in touch even during outages. After all, there are situations when it is even impossible to send an SMS message. Yes, Ukrainians are advised to:

• check whether your Internet provider provides uninterruptible power supply to its equipment in case of outage;
• Pay your ISP several months in advance. It will have additional funds to strengthen its resilience in the event of temporary power outages;
• Find where public Wi-Fi hotspots are and the ability to charge your devices nearby. These are breakpoints, shopping malls, coffee shops, etc. it could be;
• Try not to use mobile Internet unnecessarily during power outages, because the load on the base stations of mobile communications will depend on how long they can work independently.
