Playable Content is a separate section of YouTube that allows users to play arcade games without downloading anything. In the “Home” tab, you can see a list of popular games as well as recently played games. The Browse tab offers a wider selection of games, currently comprising 37 games, including Angry Birds Showdown, Brain Out and Daily Solitaire. Although the library is currently small, the company plans to add more games in the future.
Playables is currently in beta testing and is only available to a select group of premium subscribers. YouTube plans to gradually expand access to Playable content in the coming months.
YouTube will launch the Playables platform by March 28, 2024, after which the company will evaluate its performance and make a decision regarding its future.
