A new generation of Mars helicopter blades, 10 centimeters longer and with higher endurance than Ingenuity, were recently tested. The new design will make it possible to create larger and more powerful devices.
During another test, engineers were able to spin the blades at up to 3,500 revolutions per minute; This is much faster than the rotation speeds on the Ingenuity helicopter. According to the researchers, such improved parts can already be used in the finished version of the next generation of Mars helicopters.
