China’s leading chip manufacturer Loongson Technology has developed the new generation Loongson 3A6000 computer processor.
According to Ukrinform’s news based on CCTV, the official presentation of the new chip took place in Beijing today.
The report stated that the Loongson 3A6000 processor uses a command system and architecture developed entirely in China and is not based on the use of any foreign licensed technology.
“The presentation shows that central processors independently developed by China have reached a new level of autonomous controllability and characteristics, and their performance has reached the indicators of the world’s leading analogues,” the message said.
The company also introduced its own Loongson 2P0500 printer main control chip (controller), which is the first chip produced in China. This is expected to help bring more Chinese-made printers/scanners to market.
Loongson is a universal microprocessor architecture developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences to provide an alternative to Intel and AMD products.
The Loongson 3A6000 processor corresponds to the 10th generation American Intel Core i3 in performance and is designed only for the domestic market; Since last December, the Chinese government has deemed Loongson technology as strategically important and completely banned its supply. Such processors are developing their own outside the country based on the LoongArch architecture.
According to Ukrinform’s news, China has started the construction of the world’s first underwater commercial data warehouse (submarine data warehouse) at a depth of 35 meters.
