The World Health Organization (WHO) said today that it is possible that more people will begin to die from disease than from war in the world. Gaza Strip due to the spread of infectious diseases that can quickly prove fatal for people with weakened bodies, especially children.

“We’ll start to see more people die from diseases than from explosions if the minimum health care needs necessary for life are again not covered,” said Margaret Harris, a spokeswoman for the organization.

When the truce began five days ago, WHO conducted a rapid assessment of the situation in the Gaza Strip and determined that the most serious health problems were related to food shortagewater supply and sewerage services.

He also noted the acute shortage of medical personnel, lack of Medical consultations and accumulation of garbage around hospitalswhich were also used as shelters by civilians.

In this context respiratory diseases and diarrhea are of great concern to WHO, since a child who does not receive treatment (very simple in normal situations) in the latter case can die within hours from dehydration.
