Robot teachers will work in some schools in South Korea next year

Starting next year, robots teaching English will appear in primary and secondary schools in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

This was reported by KBS, according to Ukrifnorm’s report.

Seoul’s Ministry of Education said the introduction of such robots into the education process is part of its efforts to improve English teaching in public schools. According to officials, robot teachers will provide students with individual communication skills.

Robot teachers will appear in five schools in Seoul in March. They will hold face-to-face English conversations with students, correct their pronunciation, and serve as teacher assistants.

If the experiment is successful, such English “teachers” will be introduced to other schools.

Additionally, the Metropolitan Department of Education will expand the use of voice chatbots in teaching English.

As Ukrinform reports, Israeli startup Curiosity Robotics has created a talking robot to teach English to preschoolers.
