The Royal Danish Navy was one of several operators of the coastal version of the Harpoon anti-ship missile system. According to open data, there were two batteries of this system in the Danish naval fleet. The battery consisted of two launchers (each containing four containers).
The Harpoon coastal missile system was in service with Denmark from 1988-2003. The Royal Danish Navy has also used the Harpoon RCC as an offensive weapon since 1977.
It is also known that Denmark signed a contract with Boeing to upgrade their “harpoons” to the Block II version. First of all, it differs from previous versions by the ability to attack both sea and land targets.
This was made possible by equipping the missile with JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition), a new onboard computer and satellite inertial GPS/INS navigation system. The maximum flight range of this type of RCC is 280 km. Source
