Google Drive for iPhone and iPad has been updated to finally include the document scanning feature that’s been featured in the Android version of the app for nearly a decade.

The scanning feature, which will be activated in the next three days, can be accessed from the camera icon of the application. The scanner detects the edges of the document in the viewfinder, aligns elements correctly, and removes any flare and skew to create a clean scan ready to download.

Google said multiple pages can be crawled per session, users can crop crawls if necessary, and users in the US can get machine learning-based relevant headline recommendations. Apple has been adding a similar browsing feature to the standard Notes app since 2017.

Google Drive users were warned Tuesday not to deactivate their accounts on the Google Drive desktop app following a series of reports of files disappearing from the cloud service. Google is still investigating this issue.
