This is stated in a report published by the journal Nature, Ukrinform reports.
The publication notes that the planets orbit the bright K0 star HD 110067 (TIC 347332255) in the constellation Veronica’s Hair. The mass and radius of the star are approximately 80% of similar parameters of the Sun.
Open planets have sizes equal to 1.94 to 2.85 Earth radii. They also recorded high temperatures (166 to 526 degrees Celsius) as well as atmospheres dominated by hydrogen. This means that the planets are outside the so-called possible habitable zone.
However, the publication states that this discovery could be a scientific breakthrough in understanding how planets form.
As reported earlier this month, European scientists used observations from the James Webb telescope to study the atmosphere of exoplanet WASP-107b.
