Famous archaeologist and Egyptian minister of antiquities Zahi Hawass announced on December 5 that he and his colleagues will open the mysterious door discovered inside the Great Pyramid of Giza (Pyramid of Cheops).
“I discovered three doors inside the pyramid: one with two copper handles – near the southern entrance to the second chamber, the second door was found 21 centimeters behind this door, and in the northern tunnel there is a third door also with two copper handles,” Hawass told the British publication Sun.
Although archaeologists have already studied these doors, it is still not clear why they are needed and what is hiding behind them.
Previously, experts had drilled a small hole at the first gate in the south and passed a camera attached to the probe through it. This is how they found the second door. It is thought that there may be someone else behind it.
The Great Pyramid was built around 2570 BC, IV. It was built as the resting place of the Dynasty Pharaoh Cheops. It is known to contain three rooms, including the so-called queen’s chamber, which has three mysterious doors in two wells facing each other.
