The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that asteroid 1998 WB2 will pass near the Earth on Sunday, December 3. This was reported by NASA’s Jet
This was reported by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Ukrinform reports.
According to NASA, the length of the celestial body is 143 m.
The distance from it to the Earth will be 4.2 million kilometers. The speed of the asteroid is 51,120 km/h.
If an asteroid approaches Earth at a distance of less than 7.4 million km and its size exceeds 150 m, NASA considers it a “potentially hazardous object.”
This particular asteroid, 1998 WB2, does not fall within the scope of both parameters at the same time.
As Ukrinform reported, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) reported that asteroid 363505 (2003 UC20) passed near Earth on Thursday, November 2.
