Elected President of Argentina Javier Mileyscheduled for Friday Conservative Patricia Bullrich as Minister of Security of the government, which will take office on December 10, according to a statement from her press service.

Bullrich ran against Miley in this year’s presidential election. but he failed to reach the second round between Mile and the current Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.

Immediately after the elections, Bullrich expresses support for Libertarian in runoff in a maneuver that brought the ultra-liberals to power but surprised many since they had been very critical of the proposals of others during the campaign.

“I have committed to each and every one of you to bring about the profound change that society demands of us and to fight this battle from where I am today,” Bullrich said on his X account immediately after the announcement. “We will be merciless to crime”– he added on the social network formerly known as Twitter.

Bullrich, a 67-year-old political science graduate who was security minister under former President Mauricio Macri’s government from 2015 to 2019, sought during her recent presidential campaign to emerge as a tough politician who would restore order and fight crime and drug trafficking.
