Chinese technology company Lenovo Group Ltd introduced the world’s first 27-inch display that supports 2D and 3D without requiring glasses and is designed for more immersive creation, communication and collaboration.

The move is part of Lenovo’s broader effort to meet the growing needs of creators and professionals for more realistic remote collaboration and a more streamlined process for creating 3D content, from 3D graphics to 3D games to 3D video.

The ThinkVision 27 3D monitor is designed with smooth pacing, combining immersive realistic experience with ease of use. It provides an immersive 3D experience without the need for 3D glasses. According to Lenovo, its interchangeable lenticular lens combined with real-time eye tracking for smooth movement provides a more natural 3D viewing experience.

Zhang Peng, Lenovo’s director of visual product management, said display technology in the 3D era will evolve from “clear” to “real”, leading to the next wave of innovation and device growth.

Data from Shangpu Consulting Group shows that by 2027, the supply of glassless 3D displays in China will reach 40 million units and the market size will reach 12 billion dollars. The total annual growth rates of supply volume and market size are 27.8% and 28.6%, respectively.
