Ukrainian telecom operator “Kyivstar” has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the world’s leading cloud services provider Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Under the agreement, the companies will jointly discuss, evaluate and identify opportunities for collaboration on a range of initiatives. This particularly concerns the migration of Kyivstar’s data management platform (DMP) to AWS. This will contribute to the accumulation of best practices and expertise for the future development of Ukraine.

Kyivstar also plans to create a specialized team with experience working with AWS technology, which will focus on cloud infrastructure services as well as data processing and artificial intelligence.

“Cooperation with AWS confirms Kyivstar’s well-established principle of becoming a technological and innovative leader in the Ukrainian market. “This is an important step in the development of Ukrainian business and its integration into the international context,” said Kyivstar President Oleksandr Komarov.

According to VEON CEO Kaan TerzioÄŸlu, this cooperation shows the continuing attractiveness of Ukraine in terms of international trade, despite the large-scale war.

“We always say that it is time to invest in Ukraine and we show it with our investments. Therefore, we are pleased to see international companies cooperate with VEON subsidiary Kyivstar. I am happy to see a successful cooperation supporting Ukrainian trade,” said TerzioÄŸlu.

The next phase of the joint work will be to offer Kyivstar customers a wide range of services based on AWS technologies.

The telecom operator aims to provide AWS solutions for data processing and analysis, reporting and modelling. It will also help customers migrate their infrastructure to AWS, allowing them to achieve greater efficiency and scalability in their IT infrastructure.

Additionally, AWS will ensure the security of customer data and protection against cyber threats.

“This is a significant step forward in expanding our portfolio of cloud solutions to meet our customers’ needs. This will allow our business customers not only to diversify and minimize potential business risks, but also to fully meet their individual requirements on a turnkey basis,” he commented. As Andrzej Horava, AWS’s head of work with businesses in Central and Eastern Europe, noted, his company and Amazon in general support Ukraine, assisting more than 350 organizations involved in humanitarian aid and maintaining Ukraine’s digital infrastructure. government institutions, universities and businesses.
