Rockstar Games announces Grand Theft Auto VI and it looks spectacular

Rockstar Games has announced the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, the next installment in the open-world action saga. one of the most popular and profitable franchises in video game history.

Sam Houser, the founder of Rockstar Games, had to present the official presentation of Grand Theft Auto VI after the first trailer was leaked on TikTok and X. In addition to not being able to prevent leaks, he showed his enthusiasm for the game: “GTA VI continues our quest to push the boundaries of what’s possible in it Highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences. “We are excited to share this new vision with players around the world.”.

It’s not for less. Considering that the last installment of the saga (GTA V) alone sold 190 million units, you can understand the importance of this launch. Let’s say that the new environment of Grand Theft Auto VI will be Leonidas, which includes the streets of Vice City and other territories. It promises to be the most expansive and impressive iteration of the series yet.

The developer has released a trailer for the game and it looks amazing. 80s music (Tom Petty’s Love Is A Long Road) promotional video lasts 90 seconds and features Lucia, who will GTA’s first female protagonist. Judging by the barbed wire fence, it looks like Lucia’s already on the wrong side of the law, though it doesn’t look like she’s settling down or going to work in an office. She won’t be alone on her crime spree either, as she teams up with a male partner to wreak havoc in Vice City. It looks like a Bonnie and Clyde style duo in a fictional version of Miami.

The GTA 6 trailer also includes a shot a grandmother in a nightgown holding a hammer in each hand. She’s probably not an important character, but the ‘old lady with the hammer’ in her nightgown shows us how crazy the game can be. You also see beaches, night parties with lots of neon and spectacular asses. Of course, the trailer shows familiar elements of the series, including gangs, intense shootouts and police chases.

The game looks fantastic, although it’s worth remembering that these types of videos aren’t always representative of actual gameplay, and we’ve seen some regrettable deliveries in the past after extraordinary trailers. Rockstar Games (which celebrates 25 years since the studio was founded this year) He has a gold mine in his hands. Let’s hope it doesn’t fall through. We leave you with the trailer:

Grand Theft Auto VI won’t arrive until 2025

There is no good news regarding the release date, as we will have to wait a long time, at least until 2025. We also do not like that only the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms were mentioned and not PC. Hopefully the PC version will be announced later and the information we gave you a few days ago will not be confirmed and that talked about a console exclusivity for a year.

It already happened with GTA V, which was released first for consoles, but it would be terrible to wait until 2026 (at the earliest) to enjoy a big-budget production that promises a lot and will surely be played by tens of millions of fans. Grand Theft Auto VI will be the eighth main installment in the saga and the sixteenth overall. It is said to be the most expensive production in history.
