Citymesh continues to grow and takes over PS: Radiocom

With the experience of PS:Radiocom, Citymesh is building a new branch specializing in mission and mission-critical solutions.

PS: Radiocom ensures people’s safety at work by offering them important communication solutions. Traditional group talk – voice communication – was once sufficient, but customers are increasingly demanding more from their wireless communications network, such as integration with video surveillance, LTE and 5G.

Citymesh gives an example: a smart camera can trigger an alarm, whereupon the security service automatically receives a message via radio. Functionalities such as dispatching and push-to-talk via mobile communications are also increasingly in demand.

With the acquisition of PS: Radiocom, Citymesh is also expanding its customer portfolio to include players in the petrochemical, logistics and security sectors.

Sylvie Debaere, owner of PS: Radiocom, will lead the new critical solutions department within Citymesh. “Citymesh has the IT knowledge that we lack and we can complement their expertise well. The demand from customers was already there, we can now support them even better with the additional services from Citymesh.”

Joeri Tranchet, COO Citymesh Group: “PS: Radiocom is a strong addition to our new critical solutions industry. As Sylvie has already suggested, we are increasingly being asked for total solutions where the result is more important than the technology used. We now offer the entire spectrum, from radio to LTE, from WLAN to private networking and 5G.”

Last month, Citymesh also acquired Edpnet from Proximus. As a result of the acquisition, Citymesh gains an additional 46,000 customers for fixed-line Internet and 13,500 customers with a mobile subscription. Time will tell how closely they fit into Citymesh’s plans.
