Zorin OS 17 will be the next version of the GNU/Linux distribution specially designed for welcome those users who are tired of windows problems. Our colleagues at verylinux have announced the launch of the first beta version, which is available for free if you want to try it out.

As a Windows and Linux user, Zorin OS is one of my favorite distros. Although installing and using Linux today is as simple as any other desktop system, there is a section of users who still do not dare to at least give it a try. Those responsible for this distro have them especially in mind and They offer all the facilities to achieve a non-traumatic transition, from getting familiar with its visual part to installing Windows applications. The released beta version already shows us a lot of new features. Zorin Menu has changed from a simple launcher to a versatile universal search tool. The aim of this improvement is to optimize the user experience and enable quick access to files, appointments and more with customizable search settings.

Easy to use for multitasking is another enhancement to the unmistakable style of the GNOME desktop environment on which it is based. Horizontally organized and easily navigable desktops thus offer a more intuitive workflow. Function Spatial area v Zorin OS 17 offers an excellent 3D perspective for switching workspaces and managing windows. The goal is to provide users with an engaging and dynamic desktop experience.

The software store has been redesigned for greater speed and usability. The new design aims to simplify the process of discovering and installing applications. Other new features come in the form of screen capture options with a new overlay interface that makes it easier to capture and record screen content.

Another key focus of the new version was performance improvement. The operating system has been tuned at all levels to ensure the best experience on the various supported hardware configurations. Hardware compatibility improvements are also reported; in parental control; resetting the weather app and calendar; updated themes and much more.

How to download and use Zorin OS 17

Zorin OS 17 is in beta and the final stable version is expected in a few months. It installs like any other operating system (download the ISO, burn it to a pendrive and install), because using Linux has never been easier. You can also try it as a live CD without touching anything on your main machine or in a virtual machine. Free and open source software You can download it in “Core”, general desktop with Gnome, “Education” and “Lite” versions with XFCE for low-end machines. If after trying it you find that you like the distro, its developers sell a special “Ultimate Edition” version with more support and premium components for a one-time payment of 39 euros. It’s a very low price for developer support and version continuity.
