French Minister of Education Gabriel Attal announced that the MIA artificial intelligence system, which will be offered as an application to all 800,000 10th grade students as of September 2024, has been included in the school program.
According to Ukrinform, the minister announced this at the press conference and previously sent an e-mail to schools. BFMTV.
“From now on, all students entering high school will use the artificial intelligence tool at home to correct and further study their French and mathematics studies,” said Gabriel Attal.
Students will first be asked to take an entrance exam consisting of a series of questions in French and mathematics to determine their current level. They can also enter the results of the entrance exam that all high school students take when they enter the Ukrainian equivalent of the 10th grade.
Once you pass this stage, the app offers thousands of exercises on both subjects. Thanks to the algorithm, the student’s progress will be expressed by artificial intelligence.
“When a student completes one exercise, the algorithm will suggest the next exercise it thinks is most relevant to his development, and this is not necessarily a linear sequence. One student will never receive the same set of exercises as another,” explained Thierry de Voulpillier, co-founder of this program.
In addition, artificial intelligence will be able to evaluate the student thanks to the automatic learning process. In particular, he will be able to determine whether the proposed sequence of exercises allows the student to progress more quickly. The algorithm will be able to automatically make changes to its suggestions by analyzing the data of all students.
In addition to the classic mode, French teenagers will also be offered more traditional tools such as video lessons and duet mode for exercising in pairs. Teachers can access individual student progress data from the dashboard.
The program’s founders say these tools, based on the work of cognitive science researchers, are the best way to help France improve its PISA scores, which increasingly lag behind other countries.
Although artificial intelligence will be applied to all students with the MIA application, the Ministry of National Education assured that this will not be mandatory.
As reported, French forecasters He touched upon the enormous potential of artificial intelligence tools in daily work.
