China launches space rocket for the first time from a platform in the South China Sea
On the morning of Wednesday, December 6, China conducted the launch of its first space launch vehicle from a floating platform in the South China Sea as part of its Smart Dragon-3 rocket launching an experimental satellite to test Internet technologies.

This was reported by Xinhua, according to Ukrinform’s report.

The CX-19 satellite rocket was launched at 3:24 am local time (9:24 pm on Tuesday in Kiev) from a platform off the coast of Yangjiang City in southern Guangdong province, successfully delivering the spacecraft to the target orbit.

The launch was carried out by experts from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome in Shanxi Province in northern China.

The CX-19 was reportedly designed and manufactured by the Shanghai Microsatellite Innovation Academy and will be used to test satellite Internet technologies.

Smart Dragon 3 is a four-stage commercial launch vehicle developed by Chinese experts, with a height of 31 m, a diameter of 2.65 m and a weight of 145 tons, capable of carrying a payload of up to one and a half tons. Its height above the Earth is 500 km. It is designed for use in the market for the launch of commercial satellites and the creation of satellite constellations.

The rocket has high economic efficiency, is suitable for launch from a variety of platforms, and requires little time to prepare for launch.

Wednesday’s launch was the second mission of the Smart Dragon series rockets. During the first flight last December, the rocket launched 14 satellites into Earth orbit.

As reported by Ukrinform, Chinese private space company Galactic Energy launched two new satellites into orbit on December 5 with the help of the Ceres-1 Y9 commercial launch vehicle, including a spacecraft with artificial intelligence and integrated surveillance and communications functions.
