SCAMMERS ARE MAKING MONEY FROM DEFENDERS!

Scammers are creating copies of advocates’ pages on social networks!

Photos on public profiles are used to create fake accounts.

Once you’ve created the page, send a “friend” request to your military buddy and ask to borrow money on his behalf.

To avoid such scams, ask your friend for information that only he and you can know, such a question will instantly reveal the fraudster.

May be a condition of employment The need to purchase access to the site / channel through tasks or a free online project.

Tasks can be different: placing fictitious orders on the website of an online store to increase its rating, working as a translator of texts from English without knowledge of English, and translating texts with the help of an online translator. However, you have to pay to access a site that has a customer base that needs translation.

They can also send primitive test tasks, for example, listening to songs on some sites and getting paid for it.

Scammers promise rewards of different amounts depending on the vacancies: from 400 to 8,000 hryvnia per day. There are cases when scammers pay a small salary (a few hundred hryvnia) to encourage a person to spend more of their own money or ask for information about their card or account.

How to avoid falling into the hands of scammers during your job search?

  • If you come across a suspicious job posting from a well-known brand online, check the job information on the potential employer’s official website because scammers can create sites that are visually very similar to pages from well-known brands.

  • Do not invest your own money in a business recommended on the Internet. In most cases these are offers from scammers.

  • Beware of easy wins.

  • Do not pay any services to apply for a job at this or that organization.

SCAMMERS STOLE FINANCIAL PHONE NUMBER

This is a phone number linked to bank accounts. This number retrieves transaction confirmation codes, bank passwords, and account balance information.

How do scammers succeed and what are the risks?

Scammers call on behalf of employees of the mobile operator and inform that the continued use of the phone number must be confirmed. It seems necessary because a person has been using it for a long time.

For this, during the call, the mobile phone operator is asked to name the code in the SMS message sent to the number owner. Such a code allows fraudsters to gain access to the user’s personal online account on the mobile operator’s website; This account contains information by which the mobile operator identifies the customer, for example, information about the numbers the subscriber calls most frequently.

Then the scammers contact the mobile operator, report that the number is lost and needs to be restored. Fraudsters obtain the information requested by the mobile phone operator from the number owner during identification from a personal online account.

Protect your financial phone number to avoid such scams!

  • Register a financial phone number in your passport with a mobile operator or switch to contract service.

  • Keep mobile operator SMS codes secret.

ON BEHALF OF THE “META” COMPANY, SCAMMERS WRITE PERSONAL MESSAGES ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM (DIRECTLY) AND EXPLAIN PASSWORDS FROM PAGES ON SOCIAL NETWORKS

The content of the message claims that employees of the “Meta” company informed the page owner about the violation of community rules. Scammers may also write that after checking your page, it was found that you violated copyright several times. If you think this is an error you must appeal or your account will be disabled within 24 hours. And they give the link to the appeal form. At the same time, when the owner of the page goes to the link to the fake resource, you need to enter your username and password from your own pages on social networks. Once a person enters this data, it automatically becomes known to thieves.

Remember, Instagram and Facebook never write about account security in direct messages. You can find e-mails sent from Meta in the last 14 days regarding the security of your account and login in the Security section.
