Iran on Wednesday announced the successful launch of its latest space bioscience capsule using the Salman launch vehicle.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by the Tasnim agency.
The material states that the purpose of launching the capsule to an altitude of 130 kilometers above the Earth’s surface is “the development of basic technologies for space activities.”
The 500-kilogram capsule was developed by the Aerospace Industries Organization of the Iranian Ministry of Defense on the orders of the Iranian Space Agency. Before launch, the capsule was tested for range of motion, recovery, speed control, impact mitigation system, aerodynamics, parachute mechanisms, and environmental control and monitoring systems.
The launch of the launch vehicle took place against the background of Iranian officials’ desire to “revitalize” the country’s space development industry and increase expertise in space biology.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) plans to carry out the first landing of the unmanned probe “SLIM” on the Moon in the country’s history on January 20.
