The release of the official GTA VI trailer gave rise to the first Graphical comparison of this long-awaited game with GTA V, a delivery that was a generational transition title that came to both the Xbox 360 and PS3, as well as the PS4 and Xbox One. This means that, strictly speaking, GTA V’s foundation is almost two generations behind GTA VI.
I say almost because Rockstar had to from a base that could push the Xbox 360 and PS3, and that foundation was unchanged in GTA V, although it is also true that the studio introduced remarkable graphical improvements in the PS4 and Xbox One version of the said game, as well as in the PC version. This game also had a “next gen” version with ray tracing.
The version of GTA V that was used in this graphical comparison with GTA VI is PC set to maximum with 4K resolution, and scenes that are almost identical to those in the new trailer were chosen to make this comparison as accurate and edited as possible. The result achieved by the author of the video is very good, it must be said all.
To be fair, we have to admit that GTA V still has very good graphics for all the time it’s had. However, once we start this graphical comparison with GTA VI, we already notice that the differences are huge. Take a look at for example realism of the sea at the level of physics (waves and water reactions to NPC and animal interactions), in the large amount of detail that appears in the scene (dolphins, boats and birds) and in huge density of NPCs and buildings.
Urban recreation is also on another level, both for density of vegetation as well as quality of geometry in general and observation distance. It’s simply stunning in every way and the lighting and shadow effects are no slouch either. In this sense, we can highlight the distance at which the shadows start to be rendered, which is huge.
On the road scene, GTA V looks particularly good, but after a graphical comparison with GTA VI, we see another huge leap in quality and realism, which is noticeable on all fronts, although the traffic density, vehicle modeling stands out above all. the rest of the elements that appear in the scene, as well as direct and indirect lighting (each vehicle projects its own front and rear lights).
I already told you that one of the most important differences that we see in GTA VI is huge density of NPCsbut we must also emphasize difference at the modeling level which are much more realistic compared to those of GTA V. His animations are also on another level, as seen in the beach scene for example.
The video also includes a section where it splits the screen in two to show the graphical differences between the two games in an even clearer way. We are awaiting confirmation of a PC version launch, something Rockstar has left up in the air for now. Do not worry, we are sure this game will be compatibleand that his demands shouldn’t be too high after all, because we’re talking about a game after all whose technical base will be the Xbox Series S.
