We may not have gotten a full-fledged flagship from Oppo this year, but the Chinese smartphone brand has continued to expand its arsenal of affordable smartphones. This also happens in December with the Oppo A58 and A38. The latest additions to the portfolio are now available at a price between 200 and 250 euros.
The new OPPO A58 features a 6.72-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) display and offers an advertised maximum screen brightness of 680 nits. The dual speakers offer a volume that is up to forty percent higher than the manufacturer’s previous budget devices. The device weighs around 192 grams and is only 8 mm thick. The protection class IP54 means that the smartphone should withstand a few splashes of water.
When it comes to cameras, you get a 50MP camera combined with a 2MP portrait camera, although the latter cannot give you a sharp image. According to the manufacturer, the 5000 mAh battery lasts up to 32 hours for phone calls. With the 33W charger you will have a full battery in 75 minutes and after five minutes of charging you will be connected to the mains for four hours.
Oppo has installed a 6.56-inch HD+ screen (1600 x 900 pixels) in the A38, with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a peak brightness of 720 nits. You get the same 50MP + 2MP camera setup, the front camera is 5MP instead of 8MP on the A58. The Oppo A58 also inherits its brother’s 5000mAh battery, 33W charger and IP54 protection rating.
Both devices are now available through recognized sales channels. The Oppo A58 is available in black and comes in a 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM configuration. The device retails for 249 euros (including VAT). For the Oppo A 38 you pay 219 euros (including VAT) and get 4 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM.
