The Kensington SD5800T is a Thunderbolt 4 docking station that has 16 ports and can power your laptop with up to 98 watts of power via USB-C.
Can you ever have enough ports? Apparently not according to Kensington. The brand’s new SD5800T docking station uses Thunderbolt 4, making it the mother of all docking stations. This allows you to connect four 4K monitors simultaneously, providing up to 40Gbps bandwidth for heavy workloads for creative professionals, among others.
How many monitors you can ultimately connect to the Kensington SD5800T depends on the operating system. Windows PCs (with Thunderbolt 4) can connect four 4K 60Hz displays simultaneously or one 8K 60Hz display. MacBook devices with an Apple M chip on board can connect up to two 6K displays at 60 Hz to the docking station.

Despite the numerous ports, everything is housed in a compact housing that won’t look out of place on your desk. You can install the docking station horizontally or vertically. If you want, you can secure the Kensington SD5800T with a lock or attach it to something.
All that Thunderbolt 4 connectivity doesn’t come cheap. In the USA, the docking station costs $379. At the time of writing this article is 350 euros excluding VAT. It is not yet known when the Kensington SD5800T will be available from us.
