The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported the presence of “Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF)” in people arriving in the country from Tecate, Baja California.
The CDC notes that RMSF can be fatal. and they are seeking medical care for people who traveled to Tecate or another city in northern Mexico and who developed symptoms during the trip or two weeks after returning to the United States.
They clarify that this disease was discovered in urban areas of several states in northern Mexico, including Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila and Nuevo Leon.
