The the final Wi-Fi 7 specification They will be published in the first quarter of 2024, as announced by the Wi-Fi Alliance industry group. The new wireless standard promises faster speeds, lower latency and more bandwidth than the existing Wi-Fi 6.
Over the course of this year, we’ve presented you with solutions for Wi-Fi 7 announced by various manufacturers of network products, motherboards or processors. These advanced solutions have been designed based on the proposals of the Wi-Fi Alliance standard and are perfectly valid for end consumers. However, mass deployment of the standard in companies and enterprises requires certification of the final specifications, which will arrive in the first quarter of the year, as the industry group explained:
“Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7, based on IEEE 802.11be technology, will be available before the end of the first quarter of 2024.” “Wi-Fi 7 devices are already being deployed, and certification to the standard will facilitate global interoperability and bring advanced Wi-Fi performance into the next era of connected devices.”.
The next major update to the standard should take wireless communication to another level. The level at which a consumer or company can set up a local wireless network with sufficient features replace wired networks. in high-bandwidth applications such as game streaming, cloud computing, virtual/augmented reality, and remote work.
For this purpose, a new standard, which bears the technical name IEEE 802.11be, was developed to achieve this extremely high performance (EHT), so we can expect improved transfer rates, lower latency, better management of connected devices, and spectrum expansion with higher bandwidth channels that ultimately determine the data rate of a Wi-Fi signal and ultimately increase performance.
Between Features to expect from Wi-Fi 7 protrude:
Quite a few improvements over what Wi-Fi 6/6E offers, although it should be noted that the speed and previous characteristics are maximum and in ideal conditions, which are not always possible in wireless networks. We can expect a massive rollout of Wi-Fi 7 in the first part of 2024 and product announcements of all kinds, sure to start at CES in January.
