This was stated by Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov in his video message.

“The war with Russia has many dimensions, and one of them is in cyberspace. Unfortunately, this morning Kyivstar was the target of a powerful hacker attack, as a result of which communication services and internet access were temporarily unavailable. For now Conditions for restoration of services are not entirely clear“, Komarov remarked.

Komarov also noted that the company will pay compensation to subscribers who do not have a connection or cannot benefit from the operator’s services.

We should also note that Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, who is responsible for the restoration, previously announced that they hope to complete the repair work on the Kyivstar network within 4-5 hours.

Accident at Kyivstar: the real issue

• Since the morning of December 12, Kyivstar users have reported problems with the network: they cannot make calls, use the Internet or send SMS messages.
