Cyber ​​experts of the Security Service of Ukraine are helping Kyivstar eliminate the consequences of a hacker attack. The ministry said when it is possible to expect the mobile operator to continue operating.

Kyivstar will start operating today

The Security Service of Ukraine emphasized that on December 13, Kyivstar will restore fixed internet for households, as well as begin to launch mobile communications and the Internet.

They emphasized that the operator’s digital infrastructure was seriously damaged, so a certain period of time was needed to restore all services.

Previously, the company stated that it had partially restored fixed internet for the home internet base. In the near future, services to the entire customer base of fixed Internet will also be restored.

It also takes more time to restore mobile services.

The company also noted that although they determined December 13 as the start of the resumption of Kyivstar operations, they could not give any guarantees. After all, when a system is restored, new problems may arise.

Russians claimed responsibility for the attack on Kievstar

The security service said one of the Russian rogue hacker groups had already claimed responsibility for the hacker attack.

This is a hacking unit of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, thereby publicly legalizing the results of criminal activities.
