Tesla is recalling more than two million vehicles after a US regulator found a partial fault in its autonomous driving (autopilot) system.
According to Ukrinform, BBC reported on this issue.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the recall was due to a problem with the driver monitoring system in Tesla’s autopilots. This system determines the driver’s degree of attention while driving. They added that the company’s auto software will be tested again after the necessary changes are implemented.
Tesla said it would release a software update to fix the problem. The management noted that the company’s vehicle software will be checked again after the necessary changes are implemented.
The recall will affect nearly every car the company has sold in the U.S. since the Autopilot feature was introduced in 2015.
The company will recall its vehicles for the second time this year due to a malfunction in the autopilot system.
As reported by Ukrinform, Tesla voluntarily recalled 362,758 electric vehicles in February, warning that its experimental driver assistance software sold as Full Self-Driving Beta (FSD Beta) could cause accidents.
