The press service of the State Special Communications Service confirmed that experts from CERT-UA, SBU and Kyivstar are actively investigating the cyber incident. 24 Channels.

Currently, government agencies, in particular the Government Computer Emergency Response Group CERT-UA and the Security Service, are investigating the cyberattack on Kyivstar.

Since there is currently no access to the network and home Internet, the State Special Communications Service recommends citizens to use Wi-Fi as much as possible and calls on the owners of public institutions to make Wi-Fi networks available to everyone.

Hacker attack on Kyivstar

On the morning of December 12, a major technical malfunction occurred in the Kyivstar network. As a result, communications and Internet services were affected. Additionally, some PrivatBank terminals and ATMs experienced operational problems.

In connection with this situation, the Security Service of Ukraine opened a case regarding the hacker attack on “Kyivstar”. eight articles. Preliminary investigations suggest that Russian special services may have played a role in this attack. That’s why cyber experts work with various government agencies to speed up network recovery.

Further investigation showed that the Russian GRU may have been involved in the attack on Kyivstar. The Russian fake hacker group known as “Solntsepek” claimed responsibility for this attack.
