ASRock 4X4 BOX 8040 is a new series from the Taiwanese manufacturer that updates its catalog of compact computers. They stand out because they are first in the field to include the Ryzen 8000 processors AMD unveiled last week. The manufacturer will sell them in assembled configurations and also as a single motherboard for more customized builds.

AMD APUs are preferentially used in laptops and we have already seen the latest generation in the Acer Nitro V 16, but they are also mounted in other types of designs such as all-in-one AIOs or mini-PCs like the one in question .

In a chassis very similar to the previous ones of the manufacturer, with very limited dimensions 118 x 110 x 49 mm, mounts an active cooling system with a fan. As we said, the big news of this series is the new AMD APUs with the option of equipment Ryzen 7 8840U or Ryzen 5 8640U. All AMD models are equipped with Zen 4 CPU cores, RDNA 3 graphics and an NPU with up to 16 TOPs of performance, which increases to 39 TOPS when working with the CPU and GPU.
