Qnap introduces the Thunderbolt 4 All-Flash NASbook: a storage device for the videographer ecosystem that works both over the network and with a direct connection.
Qnap launches the Thunderbolt 4 All-Flash NASbook. The thing’s official and unpronounceable name is TBS-h574TX, but we’re sticking with it NASbook. The NASbook is a relatively niche device aimed at videographers. Since Qnap is primarily a NAS specialist, this device also offers storage over the network, although you can also connect the NASbook to your Mac or PC via two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Specifications
Up to five E1S/M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs can be accommodated inside. These are placed in a RAID configuration by default. The NASbook supports hot swapping. The computing power comes from a thirteenth generation Intel Core chip. The NASbook is available with an 8-core and a 12-core CPU. On the network side, Qnap offers both 2.5 GbE and 10 GbE. There are also two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports. Finally, you get an HDMI port.
The device is ideal for videographers. The ports allow you to quickly transfer images, while the fast direct Thunderbolt 4 connection means you can mount directly from the NASbook. The network functionality ensures that the files are also available wirelessly.
The NASbook should be available soon. The device is available from 1,446 euros for the version with Core i3. The variant with more RAM and a more powerful processor costs 1,767 euros. The prices are always exclusive of VAT.
