The launch of Apple Music Classical last March was (at least in my opinion) the most important streaming music news of the year. It’s true that the app that Apple promised when it acquired Primephonic took a little longer than originally planned, but as I said at the time, the impressive work done by its editorial team, cataloging all of its content and obtaining exclusive content, was worth the wait it.

Although it originally debuted only on iOS, The wait wasn’t too long for Android users, as the app for that operating system arrived two months later, in May. As I stated at the time, the fact that Apple prioritized the launch of Apple Music Classical on Android over other platforms such as ipadOS, macOS or the web version of Apple Music was, in my opinion, a very smart move, because we are talking about the real difference between Apple’s service in compared to the rest of the streaming music platforms.

Let’s be honest, with its extensive catalog and excellent editorial and rating work alone, Apple Music Classical could “calm down” and reap the rewards of all that good work. However, it is increasingly evident that Cupertino is betting very heavily on this platform, and therefore they will not stop enriching it, fortunately for us who use it regularly. All the more so if, as in this case, In addition, they value our cultural spaces.

So, Apple Music Classical develops its exclusive content strategy by launching a promising collaboration with Teatro Real, a collaborative framework that will bring previously unreleased recordings of recent Teatro Real productions to Apple’s classical music platform. Something that, in addition to expanding the content offering on the service, also plays a key role in spreading the character of the institution worldwide thanks to the immense reach of Apple Music Classical.

Royal Theater comes to Apple Music Classical

We will be able to start enjoying the first fruits of this cooperation in a few hours, p the arrival of four productions in the catalog which will undoubtedly please music lovers the most. are: Puritan me, Vincenzo Bellini, directed by Evelino Pidò, with Javier Camarena and Diana Damrau; Lucio Silla, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, directed by Ivor Bolton, with Paticia Petibon; Turandot, by Giacomo Puccini, directed by Nicola Luisotti, with Irene Théorin and Gregory Kunde and FalstaffGiuseppe Verdi, directed by Daniele Rustioni, with Roberto de Candia and Rebecca Evans.

But This is just the beginning of a much more ambitious plan.. For its development, the service already has a specific page for Teatro Real, on which both exclusive recordings, such as those mentioned above, as well as playlists directly related to the auditorium’s program, the most prominent characters of the season and other notable content will be published. The first playlists are now available on Apple Music Classical and are as follows: Summer Highlights, Spring Highlights, Season 23/24 Highlights and Lear Highlights.

With this agreement, Teatro Real joins a select list of venues, opera companies and orchestras around the world that already have a prominent place on Apple Music Classical.. A list in which we can find such prestigious names as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, the New York Philharmonic, the Paris National Opera and many others. Some, and I understand that perfectly, celebrate with excitement when their football team qualifies for major international competitions. With this move and thanks to Apple Music Classical, we can say that Teatro Real has also been placed in the honorable division.
