The company said the Gaudi3 will compete with Nvidia’s H100 chips, which are now the primary choice among companies building massive “chip farms” to power AI applications, and AMD’s upcoming MI300X when they start shipping to customers in 2024.
It is stated that Intel has been producing Gaudi-style chips since 2019, when the company acquired a semiconductor developer called Habana Labs.
Today the American company also introduced Core Ultra chips designed for laptops and Windows computers, as well as new server chips of the fifth generation Xeon.
Both include a special piece of AI called an NPU that can be used to run AI programs faster.
