“12th flight. Average height and performance qualification test. Flight duration: 12 hours,” the company reported.
In the video published by the Baykar company, it is seen that the take-off was carried out in the morning, in conditions of limited visibility due to weather conditions, and the landing was carried out in the dark.
As stated by the Baykar company, the Bayraktar TB3 combat drone has the ability to take off and land on an aircraft carrier with a short runway. In addition to its reconnaissance and surveillance missions, it can also hit targets with missiles placed under its wings.
A feature of the drone’s design is its folding wings, which allow it to be used on aircraft carriers. The wingspan is 14 meters, the length of the UAV is 8.35 m, the height is 2.6 m, the maximum take-off weight is 1450 kg. Cruising speed – 125 knots, maximum -160 knots. Carrying capacity is 280 kilograms. Bayraktar TB3’s operating time without recharging is more than 24 hours.
The drone has autonomous take-off and landing capabilities and can be controlled remotely over significant distances thanks to line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight communication capabilities.
Bayraktar TB3 had previously successfully passed the 4-hour flight test.
According to Ukrinform’s news, the company announced a few days ago that the Bayraktar TB2 UAV, which serves in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, broke a new record in Turkish aviation history by successfully flying for 750 thousand hours.
