New Intel chips, new laptops. Samsung announces three new models: Galaxy Book 4 Ultra, Book 4 Pro and Book 4 Pro 360

Since entering the Benelux laptop market in 2022, Samsung has achieved success. Last year we were very impressed with the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro. Samsung is relying on the new Intel Core Ultra chips for the new generation of laptops. This is also the focus, as the remaining Samsung Galaxy Book 4 laptops will also receive an iterative update.

Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Ultra

The top model in the series will have an Intel Core Ultra 9 or 7 series chip on board. The Nvidia RTX 4050 (6 GB GDDR6) is again available as an option; if you want more, you can now also configure an RTX 4070 (8 GB GDDR6).

Everything else remains identical to its predecessor, including the beautiful 16-inch AMOLED (2,880 x 1,800 pixels) 120 Hz touchscreen. New this year is the dynamic refresh rate, where the laptop can switch between 48 Hz and 120 Hz and VRR supports.

The base configuration starts with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. With the top model you can double both. A 2MP webcam is centrally located at the top of the screen. Laptop dimensions: 355 x 250 x 16.5 mm. A 140-watt USB-C fast charger is included.

The laptop is expected in South Korea from January and will gradually be available in Europe later.

Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro

Like last year, the Galaxy Book 4 Pro is available in two screen sizes: 14 inches and 16 inches. Hopefully the new model has tinkered with the cooling of the 14-inch model, which was disappointing last year. Both models feature the same beautiful AMOLED touchscreen as the Ultra variant.

No separate graphics card as an option in the Pro version, but the new integrated Intel Arc graphics component within the new Intel Core Ultra chips. Two configurations are possible: Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7. In addition, each model has 16 GB of RAM on board and 512 GB or 1 TB of SSD storage. A standard 65-watt USB-C charger is included.

These two models will also not be available in Europe until later in 2024. There is no exact date or recommended prices yet.

Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360

The biggest upgrade compared to last year is the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360. Finally, the last model with a traditional 16-inch LCD screen is swapped for a much better 16-inch AMOLED screen, in line with the others above identical to the models mentioned. This may also have an impact on the price, but nothing is known about that yet.

Here again two Intel Core Ultra versions, 5 and 7, with integrated Arc Graphics in tandem. It’s the only laptop in the lineup with a 360-degree hinge to maximize the touchscreen. As with the other Pro laptops, a 65-watt USB-C charger is included in the box.

Here too, Samsung is neither announcing a specific availability date nor a recommended retail price. We can expect the device in Europe in 2024.
